As-Built Drawings
Accurate records of your existing structure.
Older homes often lack up-to-date documentation. We create as-built drawings by measuring your existing structure and drafting a precise digital version of the building.
These plans are essential for renovation planning, permits, insurance documentation, and resale. An accurate baseline drawing reduces mistakes during design and construction, making all your future planning much smoother.
Common Questions
What are as-built drawings used for?
They give you an accurate record of your existing building for renovation planning, permit applications, insurance documentation, and resale. Starting a project from accurate drawings means fewer mistakes during design and construction.
My home doesn’t have any plans. Can you still draw it?
Yes. That’s exactly what as-built drawings are for. We measure the existing structure and draft a precise digital version of it, which is common for older homes and cabins without current documentation.
Are as-built drawings enough to get a building permit?
As-builts document what already exists, so they’re the starting point. A permit application for new work also needs drawings of what you’re proposing, such as renovation or addition drawings, which we can prepare from the same measurements.
Do you measure properties outside Whitehorse?
We work across Whitehorse and nearby communities, including Ibex Valley, Mt. Lorne, Marsh Lake, Tagish, and Haines Junction, as well as rural Yukon properties and cabin sites. Remote drafting is available for Dawson and clients farther away.
