Conceptual Home & Cabin Design
Early-stage designs for new builds.
Conceptual design is the first step toward building a custom home, tiny home, or cabin. We turn your ideas into floor plans and 3D models that reflect your vision, your lifestyle needs, and your site conditions.
These concepts can be refined into full permit drawings or passed to engineers for structural review. Whether you’re building a Yukon cabin, a compact tiny home, or a full-size residence, we help shape your concept into a realistic, buildable plan.
Common Questions
Where do I start if I’m planning a new home or cabin?
With a concept. We turn your ideas into floor plans and 3D models that reflect your vision, your lifestyle, and your site. Once you’re happy with the concept, it can be refined into full permit drawings.
Does the design account for Yukon conditions?
Yes. We design with local conditions in mind, including Yukon climate considerations, snow loads, zoning, and site access challenges, which matter a lot for cabins and rural properties.
Will I need a development permit and a building permit?
Often both. In Whitehorse, a development permit is typically required before a building permit. Outside city limits, the Government of Yukon issues development permits in unincorporated communities and building permits too. We can tell you what your property is likely to need when you request a quote.
Can a concept design go to an engineer?
Yes. Concepts can be developed into full permit drawings or passed to engineers for structural review, so there’s no need to start over once the design is settled.
Permit requirements can change. Confirm current requirements with the City of Whitehorse (or the Government of Yukon outside city limits) before you build.
